Islamabad (Agencies): The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Thursday announced to increase power tariff by of Rs4.74 per unit.
According to details, the electricity price has been increased on account of fuel charges adjustment (FCA) for October 2021.
As per the NEPRA notification, the FCA will be charged with the bill of December 2021, which will be paid by all consumer categories of distribution companies, except for lifeline customers of all ex-WAPDA distribution companies (XWDISCOs).
The Rs4.74 increase will put a burden of Rs60 billion on consumers, including a 17% GST.
On December 7, NEPRA also allowed the K-Electric to increase price of electricity by Rs3.75 per unit on account of FCA for the month of September for the consumers of Karachi.
Following the move, the power consumers of the Karachi will now pay an additional Rs7.22 billion in their electricity bills this December.
