Pakistan’s tallest man Naseer Soomro passes away at 55

Shikarpur (Web Desk): Naseer Soomro, one of the tallest men in the world, passed away on Monday in Shikarpur at the age of 55 after a prolonged battle with illness.

Standing at an impressive 7 feet 9 inches, Soomro had been struggling with a lung disease for several months. His condition had worsened over time, requiring multiple hospitalizations due to breathing complications, and he had even been transferred to Karachi for specialized treatment.

Last year, Soomro had been admitted to a private hospital in Karachi, where he showed initial signs of improvement and was later discharged to return home.

Unfortunately, his health began to deteriorate again in recent months, and despite continuous medical efforts, he passed away.

His funeral prayers are scheduled to take place in Shikarpur on Tuesday morning. Soomro became internationally known for his extraordinary height, which garnered attention from around the globe, making him a figure of national pride.

In recognition of his uniqueness, the Pakistani government had extended an offer for a job with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), honouring him for his exceptional distinction.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday expressed sorrow over the death of Pakistan’s tallest person Naseer Soomro.

He prayed to Allah Almighty to elevate ranks of Naseer Soomro in Jannah and grant fortitude to the bereaved family.

“In this hour of grief, sympathies of the whole nation are with the family of Naseer Soomro,” PM Shehbaz said.
