PM Shehbaz expresses Pakistan's desire to strengthen space cooperation with China

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed Pakistan’s desire to enhance cooperation with China in the fields of space technology, space satellites, telecommunication and satellite internet.

He said this while talking to a delegation of Chinese space technology company Galaxy Space company in Islamabad.

PM Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with China, calling the country a very trusted friend and strategic partner.

The delegation from Galaxy Space was led by the company’s Chairman, Xu Ming.

During the discussion, the delegation showed strong interest in investing in Pakistan’s growing space technology sector.

They also explored opportunities for collaboration on joint projects with Pakistan’s national space agency Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) and with private telecom companies operating in the country.

PM Shehbaz emphasized that Pakistan attaches great importance to the development of space technology and views it as a vital sector for future growth.

The visiting delegation thanked the Government of Pakistan for the warm welcome and noted that their engagements with officials from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, as well as SUPARCO, were highly productive and beneficial.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Tauqir Shah, and senior officers from other relevant government departments.
