Tehran (Web Desk): Iran has voiced its appreciation for Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to contribute to peace and stability in the region.

The remarks were made by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni during his meeting with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Tehran on Monday.

Momeni expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their continued efforts to advance regional peace and stability.

The meeting also focused on Pakistan-Iran relations and the latest developments across the region. 
Both sides took stock of progress in the cooperation already underway between the interior ministries of the two countries in different fields.

During the meeting, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to expanding bilateral ties with Iran and further strengthening relations in the years ahead.

Islamabad (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday conveyed their condolences following the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, brother of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

President Zardari expressed his deep sorrow over the loss and prayed for the departed soul to find eternal peace.

In a post on social media platform X on Monday, President Zardari conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the bereaved Al Maktoum family.

The President conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the bereaved Al Maktoum family, and prayed to Allah Almighty to grant the departed soul eternal peace and give patience and strength to the bereaved family.

He also prayed for Allah Almighty to provide the bereaved family with patience and strength to cope with their loss.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also mourned the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, describing his passing as a deeply painful loss.

The prime minister said Sheikh Ahmed had dedicated his life to serving Dubai and the United Arab Emirates with honour and dignity. He noted that Pakistan recognised his contributions and would remember his services with great respect and appreciation, according to a statement shared by the Prime Minister’s Office on X.

He prayed for the departed soul to be granted the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and asked Allah Almighty to give the grieving family the strength and patience to endure the loss.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar also expressed his deep sorrow over Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s passing.

In a message posted on X, he recalled Sheikh Ahmed’s longstanding contribution to Dubai’s security and development, as well as his services to the UAE Armed Forces, saying his efforts would remain remembered.

On behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan, as well as in his personal capacity, the deputy prime minister conveyed heartfelt condolences to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Al Maktoum family and the people of Dubai and the UAE.

Ishaq Dar also prayed that Allah Almighty grant the deceased the highest place in Jannah and give the bereaved family the patience and strength needed to bear the loss.

Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar visited the bereaved families of police personnel who were killed in the attack on Kohat Police Lines and offered his condolences over the loss of precious lives.

Tarar also went to CMH Kohat to meet security personnel wounded in the incident. He appreciated their courage and determination, while also acknowledging the bravery shown by police and army personnel who participated in the operation against the attackers.

The attack took place during Friday prayers and resulted in the deaths of at least 21 people, comprising 15 police personnel and six civilians. An initial hospital report stated that more than 100 people were also injured.

During his visit, the minister met the family of police officer Faheemullah, who was among those killed. He offered Fateha and conveyed his sympathies to the grieving relatives.

Talking to the media, Tarar said those who lost their lives had made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the country. He assured the families of the deceased that the government would continue to stand by them and provide necessary support.

The minister also praised the security personnel who responded to the attack, noting that some officials who were on leave returned to their duties and joined the operation against the attackers.

Tarar said the incident would not undermine the resolve of either the security forces or the people. 
Describing the attackers as cowardly, he reaffirmed the government’s commitment to combating terrorism and continuing efforts to eliminate militant elements.

He also conveyed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s message that the campaign against terrorism would continue until militant groups were defeated.

The federal minister, however, criticised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for its handling of the situation. He questioned Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s presence and asked what concrete steps had been taken to strengthen security and improve public services across the province.

Tarar also took aim at the PTI-led provincial administration, alleging weaknesses in policing, governance, education, healthcare and development. He claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa did not have a forensic laboratory capable of providing adequate support for police investigations.

He further raised allegations concerning government contracts, development funds and mining-related projects.

Turning to the PTI’s announced protest in Islamabad on September 27, Tarar said the government would not permit the federal capital to be brought to a standstill or allow armed groups to enter the city.

He dismissed PTI assertions that its demonstrations were peaceful, saying authorities would act against anyone involved in violence or found carrying weapons.

Tarar also highlighted development schemes completed during the tenure of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, including the Kohat Tunnel and motorway.

He expressed concern over deforestation in the province and alleged that factories involved in producing counterfeit cigarettes had also been found there.
