Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said that Pakistan's firm and principled demand from the Afghan Taliban regime remains to ensure that Afghan soil is not used for terrorism inside Pakistan.

In an interview with Arab News, he said this is Pakistan's only demand from Afghanistan and this can fix everything, and if they do not fix it, then the state of Pakistan will fix it in the way it should be.

The DG ISPR said Pakistan reserves the right to self-defence if the Taliban regime fails to honour its commitments under the Doha Agreement of not letting Afghan soil be used for terrorist activities.

He made it clear that Pakistan has absolutely no problem with Afghanistan or the Afghan people, but its problem is with the non-inclusive and non-representative Taliban regime, which continues to support and harbour terrorist groups.

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that nearly 80 percent of suicide bombers are Afghans. He added that Afghan nationals are present in every terrorist formation trying to enter Pakistan from Afghanistan.

He said terrorists in Balochistan do not have any public support; they are trying to impose their ideology at gunpoint.

The military’s spokesperson said that the terrorists' objective in Balochistan is to keep the province deprived because if it prospers, the people will get out of their shackles.

He said that India is sponsoring terrorism and orchestrating social media campaigns from abroad.

The DG ISPR categorically stated Pakistan's policy that there will be no talks with terrorists, adding that Pakistan does not negotiate with terrorists; it only kills them.

Speaking about the Middle East situation, he said the Pakistani leadership is in constant contact with the Saudi leadership.

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that Pakistan's commitment to the security of Saudi Arabia is unconditional and is rooted in an emotive, historic, and unbreakable bond.

The DG ISPR said Pakistan is fully prepared to go to any extent to ensure the security of the Harmain Sharifain and is honoring its commitments under the Mecca Defence Agreement and the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement with Saudi Arabia.

Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday ordered authorities to ensure that every fuel station currently in operation is registered under the Prime Minister’s fuel relief programme.

According to a statement released by DPM Office, he issued these directives while chairing a meeting of the National Steering Committee on Fuel Subsidy to assess the progress and implementation of the relief initiative.

The deputy premier also directed officials to remove permanently shut outlets and stations that exclusively sell diesel from the scheme’s list.

Dar stressed that all fuel stations that are open and serving customers must be included in the system.
At the same time, outlets that have permanently closed down, as well as those dealing solely in diesel, should be identified and excluded from the programme.

The meeting was informed that the vast majority of fuel stations nationwide had already been activated on the system, enabling citizens to use their fuel tokens. The registration process is continuing across the country through SMS at 9771.

The committee further approved the use of SMS-based fuel token redemption at stations located in areas where internet services are unavailable.

Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the National Steering Committee on Fuel Subsidy to review the implementation of the Prime Minister's Special Relief Scheme. The Committee was informed that overwhelming majority of fuel stations across the country are now operational on the system, and citizens are redeeming fuel tokens. Registration continues nationwide through sms to 9771. The Committee approved redemption of fuel tokens through SMS for stations located in areas without internet connectivity. Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and the provinces shall furnish lists of such stations so that they may be brought onto the scheme without delay. The State Bank of Pakistan informed the Committee that all payment claims received over the past three days have been settled in full, with claims received each day processed the same day. DPM/FM directed that every fuel station which is open and operating be brought onto the system, and that stations found permanently closed or dealing exclusively in diesel be identified and removed from the list, so that the coverage of the scheme reflects the position on the ground. DPM/FM appreciated the efforts of the provincial administrations and acknowledged the cooperation extended by the State Bank of Pakistan, noting that the relief must continue to reach the intended beneficiaries without hindrance. The meeting was attended by the Ministers for Petroleum, Economic Affairs, Information & Broadcasting, and IT & Telecommunication; Deputy Governor, State Bank of Pakistan; Chairman OGRA; Chairman Pakistan Digital Authority; Secretary Petroleum; Chief Commissioner ICT; the Additional Chief Secretaries of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; and senior officials from AJK, GB, Balochistan and relevant federal and provincial departments.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit-Baltistan and the provinces were instructed to submit lists of such outlets so they could be incorporated into the programme without delay.

Representatives of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) told the meeting that all payment claims submitted during the preceding three days had been cleared completely. The central bank added that claims received each day were being processed and settled on the same day.

Dar praised the provincial administrations for their efforts and also acknowledged the cooperation extended by the SBP.

He emphasized that the relief provided through the scheme should reach its intended beneficiaries smoothly and without any disruption.

Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato’ Seri Mohamad Hasan on Saturday.

The two sides exchanged views on Pakistan-Malaysia relations, with particular attention given to increasing bilateral trade and strengthening economic cooperation.

Both ministers highlighted the importance of maintaining regular high-level contacts to further develop relations and expand collaboration between the two countries.

They also agreed to hold a meeting in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
