Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former premier Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, has been granted interim bail in four separate cases related to the party’s protest in Islamabad on November 26.

The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad, under Duty Judge Shabbir Bhatti, approved her bail until January 13, 2024, with each case requiring a surety bond of Rs50,000.

On December 21, an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi had granted her interim bail in 32 other cases related to the November 26 protest.

These cases were filed in multiple regions, including Rawalpindi, Attock, and Chakwal.

The November 26 protest, organized by PTI to demand Imran Khan’s release, led to chaotic confrontations and a violent crackdown by the government.

The protest ended abruptly when law enforcement dispersed the protesters from Islamabad’s Red Zone, with several PTI leaders, including Bushra Bibi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, fleeing the scene as tensions escalated.

In addition to the charges related to the protest, Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan, and other senior PTI leaders are facing serious allegations, including a "triple murder" case regarding the deaths of three Rangers personnel who were allegedly run over during the protest. PTI has called for an independent judicial inquiry into these incidents, which they claim resulted in the deaths of several of their party workers.

Over 1,000 PTI supporters were arrested by law enforcement agencies as they stormed the capital, demanding Imran Khan’s release, in what has been described by the authorities as an attempt to disrupt the political order.

Meanwhile, the PTI has demanded the formation of a judicial commission to investigate incidents in which it alleges several of its workers were killed.
