Renowned poet, writer Altaf Hussain Hali remembered on death anniversary

Islamabad (Web Desk): Altaf Hussain Hali, a distinguished poet, writer, critic, biographer, and national reformer, was remembered on his 110th death anniversary on December 31, 2024.

Born in Panipat, Hali received his early education there before moving to Delhi, where he deepened his studies in Arabic and Persian.

Under the mentorship of the celebrated poets Ghalib and Shefta, he developed a profound understanding of literature and poetry, positioning himself as a key figure in the evolution of modern Urdu literature.

Altaf Hussain works, including Muqaddama-i-Sher-o-Shairi, Madd-o-Jazar-e Islam, Tiryaaq-e Masmoom, and Tabaqaat-ul Arz, reflected his intellectual depth and commitment to literary reform.

He also authored biographies of influential figures like Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, Ghalib, and the Persian poet Sadi, capturing their lives and contributions with remarkable insight.
