Iran says technical-level talks with US postponed to April 26

Istanbul (Web Desk): Iran has rescheduled a round of technical discussions with the United States, originally planned for Wednesday in Oman.

These talks, now set to take place on April 26, were postponed following a proposal from Oman and with the agreement of both the Iranian and U. delegations.

The announcement came on Tuesday from Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, and was reported by Iran’s official news agency IRNA.

The postponed meeting is part of ongoing indirect negotiations aimed at resolving long-standing disputes over Iran’s nuclear programme.

Just days earlier, on April 19, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi referred to the second round of these discussions in Rome as “constructive.”

The dialogue is being facilitated through intermediaries, with the broader goal of reaching a consensus on nuclear activity limits and potential sanctions relief.

The delay underscores the complexity of the diplomatic process, as both nations weigh critical issues tied to nuclear proliferation and regional security.

The upcoming session in Oman is anticipated to further explore technical aspects of a potential agreement.
