Miranshah (Staff Report): Prime Minister Imran Khan made his maiden visit to the newly merged tribal districts of North Waziristan on Monday.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mehmood Khan, Defense Minister Pervaiz Khattak were also part of the delegation.
Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said that the prime minister had been briefed on the "security situation, ongoing stability operations, socio-economic projects and rehabilitation" of internally displaced persons (IDPs).

According to the constitution amendment, FATA will be granted sixteen general seats, four seats for women and one seat for non-Muslims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. The elections shall be held within one year after the general elections.
The amendment reduces the number of seats in the National Assembly from 342 to 336. The members of the National Assembly from FATA to be elected in 2018 election shall continue till the dissolution of the Lower House.
