Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): A meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC), chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, held today (Monday) to take crucial decisions on the economic crisis and rising terrorism.
On Friday, the high-powered NSC was given a detailed briefing on economy, terrorism and Afghanistan but no final decision was taken on how to tackle these issues. Therefore, the meeting had been convened again on Monday to approve a guideline on economic and national security amid rising terrorism cases.
According to sources, the meeting will also grant approval of decisive action against terrorists.
Senior civil and military officials are expected to attend the meeting under the chair of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
On the other hand, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry has claimed that the government did not invite Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan for the NSC meeting.
Chaudhry said, in a statement, that the Taliban leadership only trust former prime minister Imran Khan.
