Islamabad (Web Desk): Meeting of National Security Committee (NSC) on Tuesday observed that United States (US) President Donald Trump’s anti-Pakistan remarks are against the ground realities, said a press release issued by the PM’s Media Wing.
Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi chaired a meeting of the NSC to deliberate over Pakistan’ stance after Trump called to end aid.
Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, defence minister, interior minister, foreign minister, Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and top officials of intelligence agencies attended the meeting.
According to the press release, the Committee noted that there are no safe havens of terrorists in Pakistan after effective military operations continuing for the past years.
The meeting observed that Pakistan should not be held responsible for failures in Afghanistan. Pakistan bore losses worth $123 billion in war on terror, the participants agreed.
Pakistan has been playing a productive role in war on terror despite allegations leveled by the States through the course of time.
The meeting asserted that the number of localities in Afghanistan with no state writ has increased in Afghanistan whereas Al-Qaeda has bore losses in the region in war on terror that Pakistan actively played a role in.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the States Aizaz Chaudhry arrived in Pakistan to attend the meeting called on emergency basis.
The meeting reviewed statement of Trump and derive a response strategy.

US Ambassador David Hale was summoned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hours after Trump’s criticism tweet to appear before the officials on Tuesday and explain president s remarks.
Foreign minister Khawaja Asif had responded to Trump’s tweet by stating that Pakistan would respond to the allegations soon and difference between the facts and fiction would be let known.
