Islamabad (Web Desk): The country's agricultural exports are witnessing significant growth due to the support of Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
According to details, 45% increase has been recorded in food exports at the beginning of this fiscal year while there is a reduction of 18% in imports.
According to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), food items worth $475.7 million were exported in July.
Rice topped the list with 135% increase in exports while sugar exports saw a phenomenal 590% increase.
Exports of vegetables increased by 100% while fruit exports increased by13% to exceed $40 million.
Exports of fish increased by 0.5% while the meat industry increased by nearly 6%, generating revenues of approximately $37 million.
This significant increase in exports manifests confidence in Pakistan's agriculture in international market.
