Karachi (Web Desk): The schools across Sindh have reopened under the strict COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
According to details, a notification issued by the School Education and Literacy Department stated that all the government and private educational institutions will strictly follow SOPs as per directions of the steering committee on education.
As per the schedule, all schools and colleges shall remain open six days a week and ensure 50 percent attendance of students on alternate days.
All heads of educational institutions will ensure 100 percent vaccination of teaching and non-teaching staff by producing evidence to the regional heads concerned.
On August 20, the Sindh government announced that schools across the province would remain closed for one more week.
Addressing a press conference, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had said the educational institutions would resume in-person learning from August 30.
The CM said that the extension has been made for teachers and parents of students so they could get vaccinated.
"The Sindh government had made it mandatory for schools staff to get vaccinated," Murad Ali Shah said, adding that parents would also require to show their vaccination certificates.
The provincial government had closed schools across the province on July 24 due to spike in coronvirus cases.
