Islamabad (Web Desk): The second session of dialogue between the government and Jamat-e-Islami (JI) will be held today to sort-out issues regarding electricity and other matters.
This was told by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar after first session of talks in Rawalpindi, the Radio Pakistan reported.
He said that a technical committee comprising Minister for Power, Secretary Energy and representatives from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and the Ministry of Finance will sit with the JI today for further discussion on the issue.
He expressed confidence that issue will be sorted out amicably and protesters will disperse honourably and in a dignified manner as a result of dialogue with Jamat-e-Islami leadership.
Meanwhile, talking to the media, JI leader Liaquat Baloch said they discussed all the issues with the government side and the government has assured to put our demands before the technical committee.
The JI has is staging a protest sit-in against inflation and massive hike in the prices of electricity continues for the second ay at Rawalpindi’s Liaquat Bagh.
The government on July 26 constituted a three-member committee comprising Information Minister Tarar, Amir Muqam and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry to negotiate with the JI leadership.
