Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,524,086 on Monday after 186 new cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.
As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 28,159 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 0.66%.
Overall 574,803 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 504,894 in Punjab, 218,937 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 35,469 in Balochistan, 135,038 in Islamabad, 11,696 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and K 43,249 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 30,346 with one new fatality reported during the last 24 hours.
Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,485,426 after another 110 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, China began locking down most of its largest city of Shanghai as a coronavirus outbreak surges and amid questions about the economic toll of the nation's zero-Covid strategy, an international news agency reported.
Shanghai's Pudong financial district and nearby areas will be locked down from early Monday to Friday as citywide mass testing gets underway, the local government said.
In the second phase of the lockdown, the vast downtown area west of the Huangpu River that divides the city will then start its own five-day lockdown on Friday.
Residents will be required to stay home and deliveries will be left at checkpoints to ensure there is no contact with the outside world. Offices and all businesses not considered essential will be closed and public transport suspended.
It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 482,187 million and death toll tops 6,148,517.
