Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar, who also heads the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), said on Wednesday that Pakistan now has the lowest COVID-19 positivity ratio ever since the government started measuring the infection in the country.
In a tweet, the minister said that the country currently had the lowest number of patients in critical care as well as the lowest mortality in a year.
“Positive impact of vaccination showing but vaccination drive must continue,” Asad Umar urged, further stating that globally 7,500 people died of COVID-19 on October 26.

As per the NCOC data, 38,430 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 1.34%.
On the other hand, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,270,322 on Wednesday after 516 new cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.
According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 28,405 with 13 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.
Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,217,935 after another 717 virus recoveries were reported.
