Islamabad's roads, markets begin to return to normal after PTI’s protest ends

Islamabad (Web Desk/Agencies): Normalcy is gradually returning to Islamabad on Wednesday following a large-scale operation against protesters with resumption of business activities, while educational institutions are set to reopen on Thursday.

Cleanup operations are underway across the city, with the removal of containers that had previously obstructed key roads. Several routes, including those leading to the Red Zone, are now accessible once more.

According to a district management official, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Irfan Memon, the administration is working to clear blocked areas swiftly.

He said that the DC has instructed assistant commissioners to clear their designated zones and has assured that all available resources are being utilized to reopen roads for citizens as quickly as possible.

The focus is also on maintaining cleanliness across the city and ensuring that roads remain safe and accessible after the obstacles are cleared.

Clearance of Murree Road, which had been closed for three days due to the protests, is underway

In addition, following the decision by the PTI to end its protests, traffic flow has resumed on all major motorways.

Routes connecting Islamabad with Lahore, including Motorways M-2, M-11, M-4, M-14, and M-3, are now fully operational again, restoring important travel connections.
