Islamabad (Web Desk): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday directed the Islamabad district administration to allow Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold public gathering in the federal capital.
According to details, Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Aamer Farooq has issued directives to district administration Islamabad in this regard.
During the hearing of the case, the state counsel told the court that permission for holding public meeting was not given due to security concerns.
The CJ IHC remarked the right of assembly of any one cannot be snatched. Slap the conditions which are normal as there is no harm in it. You should settle rules and regulations.
No extraordinary conditions be imposed. Give permission as per standard TOR.
PTI’s counsel Sher Afzal Marwat said we now want to hold public meeting in Islamabad on April 6.
“What incident has occurred a day before it has taken place due to refusal of DC for giving permission to hold public meeting. We are ready to abide by conditions of all kinds.
The CJ IHC directed PTI counsel to take care that no row takes place.
Justice Aamer Farooq remarked the previous chief justice has been giving permission for public meeting. I have too issued order.
The state counsel said an incident of terrorism has taken place a day before.
Justice Aamer Farooq remarked life does not stop. It goes on running. We have to eliminate terrorism this way.
The state counsel requested the court " give me time to obtain instructions.
"I am not seeking your willingness. I have to decide this case," the CJ IHC remarked.
The court directed district administration to give permission to PTI to hold public meeting in Islamabad.
The court directed the PTI lawyer that they should ensure that the public gathering remains free of commotion and any sort of vandalism.
