Islamabad/Lahore/Karachi (Staff Report/Agencies): Pakistan on Monday morning suffered nationwide power outages due to a major breakdown of the national grid.
“According to initial reports, the system frequency of the national grid went down at 7:34am today (Monday), causing a widespread breakdown in the power system across Pakistan,” Ministry of Energy confirmed in a tweet.

سسٹم کی بحالی پر کام تیزی سےجاری ہے
Minister for Energy Khurram Dastagir, the breakdown started when a voltage fluctuation in the grid occurred between the cities of Jamshoro and Dadu in southern Sindh province.
“System maintenance work is progressing rapidly,” said the ministry, adding that restoration of grid stations from Warsak has begun.
Outages were reported in the southern port city of Karachi, the capital Islamabad, the eastern city of Lahore and Peshawar in the north.
