Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan has agreed on an exceptional basis to allow the overland transportation of humanitarian assistance of 50,000 metric ton wheat and lifesaving medicines from India for Afghanistan via Attari-Wagah border up till Torkham.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office (FO), the first batch of 41 Afghan trucks, which entered into Pakistan through Torkham, is returning to Afghanistan today after loading the Indian wheat consignment at Attari-Wagah border.
The statement said that the Pakistan government agreed on an exceptional basis to allow the overland transportation of humanitarian assistance from India for Afghanistan to help it fight the ongoing crisis.
"Pakistan has been closely coordinating with both sides to facilitate smooth transit of the aid", the FO statement added.
