Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan has once again urged Afghanistan to take stronger measures against terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory.
During a weekly briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized that Pakistan had repeatedly shared concrete evidence of these groups with Afghan authorities.
She expressed hope that Afghanistan would recognize the serious threat posed by terrorism, not only to the region but to its own security, and would honour its commitments under international agreements, including the Doha Agreement.
The FO also regretted the outcome of last night’s vote at the UN Nations (UN) Security Council, where no consensus was reached on a resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
She reiterated Pakistan’s demand for an immediate, unconditional, and permanent ceasefire, along with unhindered access to humanitarian aid, and stressed the need to fully support the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in its vital humanitarian efforts.
In addition, Baloch drew attention to the ongoing suffering of children in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, urging the global community to advocate for their rights and put an end to their hardships.
She reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people, promising continued political, moral, and diplomatic backing in their struggle for a just and peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolutions.
