Long march: Imran Khan to announce final date for Rawalpindi touchdown today

Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan will announce the final date of arrival to Rawalpindi in Rawat today (Saturday).

Earlier, former federal minister and PTI leader Fawad Chaudhryin in a tweet shared a message for party supporters, saysing that the “final stage has arrived”

"Be prepared. Imran Khan will give a call to people today to reach Rawalpindi,” he said.

Chaudhry said that PTI leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Asad Umar, who are leading separate convoys, will meet at Rawat today from where the marchers would move towards Rawalpindi.

Meanwhile, the capital city administration has conditionally allowed the PTI rally to move towards Rawat from Koral Chowk and asked the organisers to ensure participants remain peaceful during the movement, according to Islamabad police.

In a tweet, the capital police said section 144 will remain in place in areas other than the route permitted for the march.

On Friday, PTI chief Imran Khan said that he would give the date for the long march's arrival in Islamabad on Saturday (today).

Addressing the participants of the long march via video link from Lahore, the PTI chief said that he will rejoin the party's 'Haqeeqi Azadi' march once it enters Rawalpindi.
