Two 2 Iranian supreme court judges judges shot dead in Tehran

Tehran (Web Desk): Two senior Iranian judges were killed in a shooting outside the Supreme Court in Tehran on Saturday, with another judge wounded in the attack.

The assailant, who reportedly died by suicide after the incident, had no known connection to any cases before the court, and his identity has not been revealed. A bodyguard of one of the judges was also injured during the incident.

The judges who died were identified as Ayatollahs Mohammad Moghiseh and Ali Razini, both of whom had handled sensitive cases related to national security, terrorism, and espionage. Authorities have yet to determine the exact motive behind the attack, but they have launched an investigation into the matter.

This attack comes amid a series of violent incidents targeting prominent figures in Iran in recent years, including the 2023 shooting of a prominent cleric and the 2005 murder of a renowned judge.

Despite the rarity of such attacks on the judiciary, the country has seen an increase in violence against high-profile individuals.
