Karachi (Web Desk): Nawab Muhammad Yousuf Talpur, a prominent politician and senior parliamentarian of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), passed away at the age of 82.
He was a well-respected figure, representing District Umerkot in the National Assembly (NA) multiple times.
Talpur’s long political career included serving as a federal minister during Benazir Bhutto’s government in the 1990s.
His commitment to democratic values was evident from his early years as a student when he played an active role in the movement against the One Unit policy during the Ayub Khan era.
Throughout his life, Talpur remained dedicated to the causes of his community, and he was known for his strong stance on ensuring fair water distribution to his people. Even in his later years, he remained a vocal advocate for justice and the rights of the people. His political influence extended beyond the
Assembly, as he also endured imprisonment and various hardships during the Movement for Restoration of Democracy (MRD) in opposition to military rule.
