Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistani cinemas owners have announced to lift ban on screening Indian movies from December 19.
On September 30, the management of Pakistani cinemas, Lahore's Super Cinemas and Karachi's Nueplex and Atrium cinemas, announced to impose ban on screening of all Indian films for indefinite period as a protest against the ban of Pakistani artists in India and to express solidarity with the armed forces of Pakistan.
The move to suspend screening of Indian movies came as a tit for tat move after the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) banned Pakistani actors, singers and technicians from working in India till “normalcy” returns.
Many producers in India admitted that their patriotism was being questioned after they worked with people from Pakistan including singers and actors who were casted only because of their talent.
In a statement by Film Exhibitors Association chairman Zoraiz Lashari confirmed that the cinema owners all across Pakistan will began screening of Bollywood movies from next Monday which is 19th December.
He added that movies which were missed and could not be screened due to the suspension will be screened first.
