Lahore (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday emphasized the importance of following the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) as a solution to all sorts of problems being faced by the country.
He was addressing an event marking Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (PBUH) in Lahore today, the Radio Pakistan reported.
“The teachings of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) serve as a beacon for not only Muslims but for all people seeking guidance,” the premier said.
PM Shehbaz said that due to the blessing of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), apart from Muslims, people of other religions are also living in Pakistan peacefully.
He also voiced strong support for the oppressed people of Kashmir and Palestine as millions of Muslims are being sacrificing their lives for the freedom of Kashmir and Palestine.
The premier expressed the hope that both Palestine and Kashmir will soon attain freedom and justice.
PM Shehbaz called for the establishment of a welfare state grounded in Islamic principles, asserting that such a system is essential for Pakistan's development.
The prime minister urged people to play their due role in eliminating abuse and extremist tendencies from the society in light of teachings of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).
Shhebaz Sharif said the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) gave us public welfare system based on high standards of morality.
The premier called for joint efforts to establish higher standards of morality in all sectors of Pakistan, including education, socio-economic, and commerce.
Highlighting importance of unity as per teachings of the Holy Quran, PM Shehbaz said that division is the agenda of Pakistan's enemies and we will have to foil this through collective efforts.
Alluding to salient features of a Muslim society, PM Shehbaz said that said protection of minorities and vulnerable is a pre-condition of an Islamic civic life.
