Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Parliamentary leader in Senate, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, on Thursday said that constitutional amendments package would be tabled in the upper house of the Parliament Friday.
In an informal conversation with the journalists at the Parliament House, Siddiqui stated that Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Senator Kamran Murtaza expressed optimism about the proposed amendments during a meeting of special committee on constitutional reforms.
The PML-N leader added that 90% of the work on the amendments has been completed, and hopefully, the package will be tabled in the Senate on Friday.
It is pertinent to mention that political parties, including the opposition, have reportedly come to an agreement on establishing a constitutional bench.
This consensus follows the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) easing their positions regarding the formation of the court, according to sources familiar with the situation.
