Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) is likely to decide regarding the closure of schools amid unprecedented increase in COVID-19 infections in the country.
The NCOC had convened a meeting and invited the federal and provincial health and education ministers to suggest a new set of guidelines to deal with the worsening coronavirus situation in the country over the weekend.
According to sources, the meeting is may issue new SOPs for schools and the education sector as a whole, public gatherings, marriage ceremonies, indoor/outdoor dining, and the transport sector.

Meanwhile, the NCOC has also decided to coordinate extensively with the provinces, especially Sindh, to take all necessary measures to counter the fifth wave. The forum has also directed all quarters to intensify the ongoing vaccination campaign and to enhance efforts to achieve the targets.
