Islamabad (Agencies): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday launched the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme.
Under the scheme, at least 135,000 housing units will be built across the country in the first phase. About 25,000 apartments will be built in Islamabad for federal government employees and 110,000 apartments will be constructed in Balochistan for fishermen of Gwadar.
Last month, PM Imran also launched a low-cost finance scheme to kick-start the housing project for the poor.
Special segments, including widows, orphans, transgenders, martyrs’ families and people living in war-against-terror hit areas would be given priority under the house financing scheme.
