Islamabad (Web Desk): Police have released two officials of the Indian High Commission, who were held over a hit-and-run incident in the federal capital on Monday, due to their diplomatic status.
Islamabad Police said in a statement that both Indian High Commission officials were released due to their diplomatic immunity and had been handed over in the presence of Pakistani ministry's officials.
Two Indian High Commission officials riding a car ran over a pedestrian at the embassy road and attempted to flee from the spot.
A huge crowd of people stopped the car and handed over the two men to Capital Police.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified in the report, was seriously injured and shifted to the Poly Clinic hospital.
The arrested Indian High Commission officials were identified as Salvades Pal and Dawamo Barahmu.
