Lahore (Web Desk): Disgruntled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen on Wednesday refuted the claims that he used to bear the monthly expenses of Prime Minister Imran Khan, saying that he never gave a penny for household expenses of of Bani Gala.
The clarification comes after former PTI member Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed, in an interview with a private news channel, claimed that Jahangir Tareen used to pay up to Rs5 million per month to run Imran Khan's household.
In a post on Twitter, Tarin said, "Regardless of the current status of my relationship with Imran khan, the truth must be told.
“I did whatever was in my capacity to help PTI in the quest to build a new Pakistan but I never gave a penny for the household expenses of Bani Gala. Just want to set the record straight.”

The relationship between Jahangir Tareen and PTI chief Imran Khan started souring after the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) launched an investigation against him in a case related to sugar scam that had emerged last year.
Wajihuddin Ahmed, who had resigned from the PTI back in 2016, made the claim while speaking during a show on a private news channel.
"The notion that Imran Khan is a [financially] honest man is completely devoid of truth," he said and went on to claim that, "he [PM Imran] hasn't been running his household himself for years,” Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed said.
Earlier, responding to Wajihuddin’s claims, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had said: "Jokers like Justice Wajihuddin say things like these to increase their importance.”
“Such people are not recognised by their families either so there is no need to pay much attention to them," the minister had said.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill termed the claims by Wajihuddin as "completely false and illogical".
