AJK High Court grants bail to Kashmiri poet Ahmad Farhad

Muzaffarabad (Web Desk): The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) High Court on Friday granted bail to incarcerated poet Ahmad Farhad.

Chief Justice (CJ) of High Court Sadaqat Hussain Raja approved the bail of Farhad against surety bond of Rs 200,000.

KDA Khan, counsel for Ahmad Farhad appeared in high court.

The CJ remarked Ahmad Farhad had to serve sentence due to poor Azad Kashmir judicial system.

At present judges too see the media like politicians that today their news has run in media. Azad Kashmir judicial system is ridiculous.  Azad Kashmir is a small state and we have our own judicial system.

CJ MHC asked Ahmad Farhad’s family to persuade the poet that he should express his sentiments through his poetry. He should do only poetry not journalism.

It is pertinent to mention that Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Muzaffarabad had ordered to shift Ahmad Farhad to Rara Jail till June 24 on judicial remand.
