Islamabad court acquits PTI founder, Qureshi and others in Azadi March case

Islamabad (Web Desk): A local court in Islamabad on Thursday acquitted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former premier Imran Khan former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi former minister Shehikh Rashid Ahmad and others in Azadi March case.

Judicial Magistrate Malik Muhammad Imran announced the reserved verdict of the case against PTI leaders registered at I-9 police station.

The court also cleared Sadaqat Abbasi and Ali Nawaz Awan of all charges.

The case, originally registered in 2022 at Islamabad's I-9 police station, accused the PTI leaders of violating Section 144 and involvement in acts of vandalism.

Advocates, Sardar Muhammad Masroof Khan, Ali Bukhari, Amina Ali and others presented the arguments in the court representing PTI founder and others.

Meanwhile, the court also acquitted PTI leader Shehryar Khan Afridi and other party workers who were charged with arson and vandalism during the events of May 9.
