Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistan Railways (PR) has temporarily halted all train operations from Punjab and Sindh to Balochistan following a terrorist attack on the Jaffar Express, as confirmed by officials on Tuesday.

PR's Chief Executive Officer, Amir Ali Baloch, stated that both passenger and freight services will remain suspended until security and law enforcement agencies have cleared the affected areas and confirmed the restoration of law and order in Balochistan.

He said that PR is in constant contact with security officials, although the specifics of the ongoing situation could not be disclosed at this time.

In response to requests from authorities, Pakistan Railways arranged a special train to transport security personnel from Sibi to the site of the attack.

Meanwhile, the downward Jaffar Express, which departed from Lahore at 5:30pm on Tuesday, will terminate at Sukkur/Rohri instead of continuing to Quetta due to security concerns.

Additionally, two other trains, the Shah Hussain Express and Pak Business Train, were canceled because of low reservations.

Passengers with confirmed bookings on these trains have been accommodated on the Karakoram Express and Karachi Express.

As per the Railways authorities, they are awaiting further instructions from security agencies before making any decisions on resuming train operations in the affected areas.
