PSL 10: Karachi Kings beat Multan Sultans by 4 wickets

Karachi (Web Desk): Karachi Kings defeated Multan Sultans by four wickets in the third match of the tenth season of Pakistan Super League (PSL 10) being played at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi.

The tournament witnessed one of its most exhilarating chases as Kings pulled off a record-breaking heist against Sultans. It was a night that belonged to James Vince and Khushdil Shah, who dismantled a seemingly unscalable target of 235 with a blend of brute power and calm precision.

Multan, after being asked to bat first, looked in complete command for most of the game. Mohammad Rizwan stood tall with an unbeaten 105, a captain’s knock crafted with classic timing and inventive strokeplay.

Supported by a fiery cameo from Michael Bracewell, who blitzed 44 off just 17 balls, the visitors posted a towering total of 234 for 3, a score that would intimidate even the most explosive batting line-ups.

But Karachi Kings, unfazed by the mountain ahead, came out swinging. Tim Seifert ignited the charge with a brief but blazing 32 from 16 balls before James Vince took center stage. The Englishman turned the game on its head with a whirlwind 101 off only 43 deliveries, painting the boundary ropes with 14 crisp fours and launching four deliveries deep into the Karachi night sky. It was vintage Vince — elegant yet destructive.

Khushdil Shah, batting with a sense of purpose and power, matched Vince’s tempo with a gutsy 60 off 38. The two forged a remarkable 142-run stand that kept Karachi firmly in the contest, even as Multan’s bowlers scrambled for answers.

However, just as victory seemed within grasp, both set batters fell within moments of each other, injecting drama into the final overs.

With 13 needed off the last nine balls and pressure mounting, it was Muhammad Irfan Khan and Abbas Afridi who kept their nerve.

The duo stitched together a calm, calculated stand, eventually sealing the win with four balls remaining and sending the Karachi crowd into delirium.

Multan’s bowlers, despite having a mountain of runs behind them, failed to defend the total. Akif Javed showed some spark with three wickets, but the collective effort lacked the edge needed to halt Karachi’s march.

This match will be remembered not just for its towering scores, but for the fearless cricket on display — a true PSL classic, where the bat ruled and the crowd roared.
