Islamabad (Web Desk): Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar, who also heads the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), said on Friday that more than twenty million people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in the country.
In a tweet, the minister said that fifty million people have received at least one dose of anti Covid vaccine.
“In the early days of the vaccination campaign we had set a daunting target of vaccinating 7 crore people by the end of this year. Happy to report that 5 crore people have now received at least 1 dose. More than 2 crore fully vaccinated. Inshallah will meet & surpass the target,” Asad Umar said.

On the other hand, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 1,197,887 on Friday after 3,689 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.
As per the NCOC data, 61,128 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 6.03%.
According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 26,497 with 84 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.
Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,079,867 after another 3,755 virus recoveries were reported.
