Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will chair the meeting of National Economic Council (NEC) today (Monday).
According to sources, the meeting will review the annual plan for the financial year 2023-24 and will approve the annual plan for 2024-25. The 13th five-year plan will also be considered in the meeting.
During the meeting, the progress report of the Central Development Working Party will also be considered. The provincial chief ministers, federal and provincial ministers, and other officials will participate.
The public investment of the financial year 2023-24 will be reviewed in the meeting. The public investment of the financial year 2024-25 will also be considered.
The sources said the federal government has prepared a five-year (2024-2029) plan for determining important economic goals. Macroeconomic framework has been made part of the plan. The federal government has decided to approve the five-year plan in the budget of next financial year. Under the five-year plan, important economic goals will be determined.
