Lahore (Web Desk): The 18th death anniversary of the legendary classical singer Asad Amanat Ali Khan was observed on Tuesday.
Born on September 25, 1955, in the prestigious Patiala Gharana of musicians, Lahore, he was immersed in music from a tender age.
Being the son of the celebrated vocalist Ustad Amanat Ali Khan, Asad’s initiation into the world of classical music was almost inevitable. He recorded his first song at the age of 10, showcasing his early promise.
Starting with Thumri, Asad's musical journey soon blossomed into an illustrious career. His voice became synonymous with iconic tracks that merged the elegance of classical music with the depth of modern sentiment.
Songs such as "Umra Lagian," "Zara Zara," and "Kal Chaudhvin Ki Raat" captured hearts, while his interpretation of the haunting "Ghar Wapas Jab Aao Gey," a ghazal penned by the eminent poet and journalist Ayoub Gohar, became a timeless piece of art.
