Islamabad (Staff Report): Pakistan has announced the opening of its border for Afghan nationals with valid visas pass through, for two days after nearly 20 days closure of the frontier in the wake of deadly terror attacks that left over 100 people dead in the country.
The Pak-Afghan border was closed on February 16, hours after a bomb attack in interior Sindh that ripped through a shrine, leaving at least 80 people dead.
The Lal Shahbaz Qalandar's shrine suicide attack in Sehwan city of Sindh was part of a deadly wave of terror attacks in the country, and the fifth blast in less than a week targeting innocent people.
Therefore, due to security concerns and non-cooperation by Afghan authorities regarding devising an effective border management mechanism the Pak-Afghan border has since been closed.
