Beijing (Web Desk/Agencies): Pakistan and China have signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance cooperation between the two countries in multiple fields including renewable energy and industry.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah also witnessed the signing ceremony.
One of the notable deals involves sighing of MoU between Thatta Cement Company from Pakistan and China’s Qinggong Construction Group.
This collaboration will focus on the installation of a new production line to enhance Pakistan’s cement output by 5000 tons daily, a move that is expected to contribute significantly to the construction and infrastructure development in the country.
In another development, the Sindh Energy Department and Mingyang Renewable Energy Company, a Chinese firm, signed MoU to work together on multiple renewable energy projects across Pakistan.
This agreement reflects a growing commitment to transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions, a critical need in the face of climate challenges.
Furthermore, the Government of Sindh and a Chinese company signed MoU for a project that will involve coal gasification and the setting up of a urea production plant.
This initiative will play a crucial role in addressing Pakistan’s agricultural needs by providing a more consistent supply of urea fertilizer, all while tapping into local coal resources for energy production.
These agreements represent an important step in the continued partnership between Pakistan and China, with the potential to create a range of economic and environmental benefits for Pakistan.
The focus on industry, energy, and agriculture is likely to spur growth and bring about positive changes to the nation’s infrastructure and sustainability efforts.
