Islamabad (Web Desk): Head of Mission in Kabul Ubai-ur-Rehman Nizamani is in the country on a prescheduled visit for consultations, the Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson said Monday.
Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani had remained unhurt in a terrorist attack on Pakistan’s embassy in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Friday.
Pakistan on Saturday had summoned the Afghan Charge d’Affaires to convey Pakistan’s deep concern and anguish over the attack.
On December 2, Pakistan’s embassy in Kabul came under attack on Friday and Chargé d’Affaires to Afghanistan Ubaidur Rehman Nizamani survived an assassination bid.
According to a press release by the Foreign Office (FO), the embassy compound came under attack while Nizamani remained safe.
"A security guard, Sepoy Israr Mohammad, was “critically injured” in the attack while protecting the mission head," the statement said.
The press release said Pakistan “strongly condemns” the assassination attempt against Nizamani and the attack on the embassy compound.
