Pakistan observes Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir

Islamabad (Web Desk/Web Desk): Youm-e-Istehsal is being observed in country today to register protest against Indian government's illegal action of August 5, 2019.

The Hindutva-influenced Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP)-led Indian regime had illegally and unilaterally abrogated Article 370 and 35-A of the Indian constitution, revoking the Special Status of Kashmir, five years ago.

One-minute silence was observed at nine in the morning and all the moving traffic came to a halt.  National anthems of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir were also played.

A rally in connection with Youm-e-Istehsal was held at Constitution Avenue in Islamabad today to register protest against Indian government's illegal action of August 5, 2019, revoking the special status of IIOJK.

Addressing the rally, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (FM) Mohammad Ishaq Dar said the step taken by the Indian government five years ago is an open violation of the United Nations (UN) resolutions and the UN Charter.

He said if India considers itself champion of democracy then it should open Occupied Kashmir for foreign observers to assess the atrocities being perpetrated by the Indian occupation forces.

“India cannot succeed in its nefarious designs by abrogating the special status of illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir through rescinding Article 370 and 35-A of the its constitution aimed at changing the demography of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir,” the deputy premier said.

He said that the incumbent government under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is fighting the case of the people of Kashmir at all international forums including the UN, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

FM Dar said that Pakistan will continue to extend its strong political, diplomatic and moral support to Kashmiri people till realization of their inalienable right to self-determination as enshrined in the United Nations Security Council resolutions.

He said that India cannot suppress the freedom movement of Kashmiris and should announce holding plebiscite.

The deputy prime minister said that founding father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had declared Kashmir jugular vein of Pakistan and it will become part of Pakistan.

Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam in his remarks said that Kashmir dispute will stay alive until the Kashmiri people get right to self-determination.

All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Convener, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Chapter, Ghulam Muhammad Safi said the people of IIOJK are not alone in their struggle but the people of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir are standing by them. He said Jammu and Kashmir can never be part of India.

The APHC leader said that this territory is jugular vein of Pakistan and it will become part of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Radio Pakistan, PTV and other media organizations are broadcasting special transmissions, highlighting leaders of Kashmir's freedom struggle, sacrifices of Kashmiris, and Indian atrocities against innocent civilians in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu Kashmir.

In AJK’s capital Muzaffarabad, protest gatherings and anti-Indian rallies have been arranged by Kashmir Liberation Commission, Hurriyat organizations, trade unions, political parties, journalist community and civil society.

Banners, placards and posters have been displayed in all the cities of AJK in which Indian state terrorism, barbarism, and human rights violations in the Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir (IIOJK) have been projected.

Documentaries about the illegal, unconstitutional, and immoral steps taken by India on 5th August, 2019 will be shown on big screens in major cities of AJK.
