New Delhi (Web Desk): No one could forget the tragic love story of Jack and Rose, let alone Celine Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go On’ iconic ballad.
It will be 20 years this December since James Cameron first released his Oscar-winning movie, starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, ‘Titanic’.
The movie first sailed into theaters December 19, 1997 and it will be rereleased in some cinemas in both 2D and 3D next month, according to Dolby Laboratories, Paramount Pictures, and AMC Theatres.
The exclusive one-week run, beginning December 1, however, will only be available to audiences in the United States.
"We mastered a few minutes of Titanic in Dolby Vision and I was stunned. It was like seeing it for the first time. Now that the entire film as been mastered,
“I'm excited to share it with audiences across the U.S. This is beyond 3D, beyond 70mm, it's beyond anything you've ever seen before,” Cameron said in a statement.
Cameron also added that, “The image leaps off the screen as bright and vibrant as life itself. This is the way all movies should be seen and without a doubt, ‘Titanic’ has never looked better.”
And while the hype of its rerelease is making waves, online, netizens are starting to share a deleted scene from the movie, an alternate ending, which they claim is the ending that makes all the difference, and would probably make the world cry buckets.
“I saw Titanic the day it came out and have probably seen it a hundred and fifty times since then, and gotta say this scene still made me tear up. It seriously should have been included,” wrote Samantha Campbell.
“I'm glad it wasn't in the movie but only because it would have pushed me over the edge when I was already crying hysterically!,” Jessica Budden opined.
The footage was first brought to attention by BuzzFeed writer, Chris Peña, who wrote about it on November 13.
In a 30-seconds long footage, Rose who had lost Jack after the shipwreck is being hauled aboard looking traumatized, and she even held back a cup of tea that was being handed to her.
While Joseph Bruce Ismay, a high ranking official behind the doomed ship who boarded the rescue vessel and showed no remorse during the struggles, probably had a hint of guilt as he looks compassionately at the survivors, though they only stared at him in disgust.
And a more humanising side of Ruth, Rose’s mother, who was certainly not an ideal mother, was also portrayed, as she appeared to be heartbroken thinking that her daughter had died.
Previously, another alternate ending to the movie showed the elderly Rose looking out to the ocean and looked like she was going to jump off the ship, so Brock Lovett ran to her only to discover that she was going to toss the precious gem he was looking for into the ocean.
