Rawalpindi (Web Desk/Agencies): A terrorist commander among three were killed in a joint intelligence-based operation conducted by the Security Forces and Police in Hassan Khel area of Peshawar district while four brave sons of the soil embraced martyrdom amid gallantly fighting against the terrorists.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), during conduct of the operation, after intense exchange of fire, three terrorists including high value target, Terrorist Commander Abdul Raheem were killed whereas weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists.
Terrorist Commander Abdul Raheem was highly wanted by the Law Enforcement Agencies and the government had fixed head money of Rs6 million on him, as he remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities, and was also responsible for Shahadat of Captain Hussain Jehangir Shaheed and Havildar Shafiq Ullah Shaheed on 26 May 2024.
“Today’s operation has avenged the heinous act and has brought the main perpetrator to justice,” the ISPR said.
The martyred soldiers were identified as Sepoy Muhammad Idrees, 34, resident of Swabi district, Sepoy Badam Gul, 34, resident of Kohat district, as well as Sub-Inspector Tajmir Shah, 38, resident of Peshawar district and Assistant Sub Inspector Muhammad Akram of KP's CTD, 34, resident of Mansehra district, having fought gallantly, embraced Shahadat (martyrdom).
“Pakistan’s Security Forces stand shoulder to shoulder with other law enforcement agencies to ensure peace and stability across of Pakistan and such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR said.
President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of security personnel in the joint IBO of the law enforcement agencies at Hasan Khel area of Peshawar.
In his message, the president also paid tribute to the security forces for killing terrorists, including a high-profile terrorist, during the operation.
He appreciated the bravery and professionalism of the law enforcement agencies and security forces and said that the entire nation stands united in the war against terrorism.
President Zardari vowed to root out the menace of terrorism once and for all.
He prayed for the higher ranks of martyrs and for the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also paid tribute to the personnel of both Pakistan Army and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) for killing terrorist commander Abdul Rahim and other terrorists in a successful IBO at Hasan Khel area of Peshawar district.
In a statement, he paid tribute to the security personnel who fought gallantly against the terrorists.
Shehbaz Sharif prayed for the higher ranks of martyrs including Sepoy Muhammad Idrees, Sepoy Badam Gul, Sub Inspector Tajmir Shah and Assistant Sub Inspector Muhammad Akram.
He said that the brave sons of Pakistan sacrificed their lives for the motherland while bringing the terrorists to hell.
The prime minister said that the entire nation salutes the eternal sacrifices of the martyrs and we are determined to eradicate the menace of terrorism completely.
