Rawalpindi (Staff Report): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Jawed Bajwa and his wife on Thursday visited the family of martyred police sub-inspector Abbas.
“COAS and Mrs COAS visited family of Shaheed Police Sub Inspector Abbas at his home. Lauded their great sacrifice for the nation and that of all Martyrs of Pakistan. “There isn’t any other sacrifice greater than one’s life. Our lives are dedicated to Pakistan”, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asif Ghafoor said in a tweet.
The martyred sub-inspector's mother thanked the army chief and his wife for visiting and said she is proud that her son died for the country.

Further, the martyred policeman’s son, who is also serving in the police, thanked General Bajwa for visiting and acknowledging his father’s sacrifice.
The nation is celebrating Defence and Martyrs Day to pay tribute to the martyrs and Ghazis who became a rock solid wall to defend the motherland against aggression of enemy.
Main ceremony of the day will be held at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi from 8 pm to 10 pm today to pay tributes to the martyrs and express gratitude with their families. Prime Minister Imran Khan will be Chief Guest on the occasion.
The ceremony will be attended by Army Chief, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, services chiefs, Ministers, Senators, MNAs, ambassadors, diplomats, military and civilian officials and people from various walks of life.
