Lahore (Staff Report): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to appoint Younis Khan as the mentor of Pakistan Under-19 (U-19) cricket team after he retires at the end of the ongoing series against West Indies.
PCB officials reported that Pakistani Test cricketer and former captain of the Pakistan national cricket team is expected to assume the new duty after he bids farewell to international cricket later this month.
According to details, Younis will lead the U-19 team for the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup scheduled to be held in New Zealand in January 2018.
Younis Khan is already serving as batting coach and mentor of PSL’s Peshawar Zalmi that won the 2017 title earlier this year.
Earlier, the veteran cricketer announced to retire from cricket after West Indies tour.
Younis Khan is the only Pakistani player to score over 10,000 Test runs and first test cricketer to have scored a century in all 11 countries to have hosted test matches. He is also the third Pakistani player to score 300 or more runs in an innings.
The remarkable feat drew tributes from cricket greats and other prominent personalities from around the world.
