Islamabad (Web Desk): 4th Rector's Conference organized by Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP) was held at COMSTECH, Islamabad.
The theme of the conference was “Developing a Sustainable Workforce: HR, Innovation, and Technology in Synergy”. This flagship conference was jointly hosted by Superior University, Preston University, FAST University, and Ibadat International University Islamabad.
The conference was a reflection of joint efforts towards important aspects of workforce development in the context of human resources, innovation and technology.
Welcoming the delegates in his address APSUP Chairman Prof. Prof. Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman highlighted that how universities should use strategies to become relevant in this globalized world.
Coordinator General COMSTECH Prof. Dr. Iqbal Chaudhry delivered an important speech on international cooperation and internationalization.
Sindh Higher Education Commission Chairman S.M. Tariq Rafi spoke about inter-provincial and inter-university cooperation.
Punjab Higher Education Commission Chairman Professor Shahid Munir highlighted that how Pakistani universities should work on developing dedicated areas for research.
Caretaker Federal Minister for Tourism Wasi Shah reiterated government's objective to extend cooperation with private sector to provide facilities to the youth and help them get employment.
Higher Education Commission (HECP) Chairman Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed delivered a keynote speech on the ocassion.
The oath taking ceremony of the executive body of APSUP Sindh Chapter was also held at the event.
On the occasion President Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) Ms Shahnaz Wazir Ali was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her services to higher education. At the end of the first day of the rectors’ conference, a dinner was Also hosted.
