Rawalpindi (Staff Report): Pakistan Army have rescued two British mountaineers and recovered the body of another mountaineer stranded on Hunza Valley’s Ultar Sar Mountain after their tent was struck by an avalanche.
“Pakistan Army pilots in a daring mission rescued 3 foreign mountaineers stuck in snow avalanche at above 19000 feet high Ultar Sar Peak near Hunza,” Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said in a tweet.
“Bruce Normand and Miller Timothy from UK successfully were rescued alive while an Austrian mountaineer Christian Huber succumbed to his injuries in the avalanche,” Bajwa Added.

Elisabeth Revol and Tomasz Mackiewicz were climbing Nanga Parbat, the ninth highest peak in the world at 8,126 meters (26,660 feet), but called for help.
Northern Pakistan is a major attraction for numerous hiking enthusiasts as it dwells one of the highest peaks in the world including the 8,611 meters high K2, known to be the second highest peak in the world.
