Meanwhile, Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Lieutenant General Muhammad Afzal on Tuesday said that there is no shortage of ventilators and protection equipment (PPE) to treat COVID-19 patients across Pakistan and everything is under control.
The NDMA chairman said that if the coronavirus situation deteriorates in the country by the end of June then the country may need 2,000 ventilators.
"Ventilators in all cities have been used less than 50%," he said. Lt General Afzal added that the authority’s preparations for the ventilators have been finalised.
He said that all matters related to ventilators are in control. "There are 128 people on ventilators in the country", the NDMA chief added.
