Lahore: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar ordered to issue CNICs to transgenders within 15 days.
According to details, Chief Justice heard non-issuance case of computerized national identity cards (CNICs) to transgender community on the third day of Eid. He ordered to issue CNICs to transgenders within 15 days. He also formulated committee to monitor the matter. “Court will not tolerate coercion and misbehave with transgenders come what may,” Saqib Nisar remarked.
“Transgenders issues will not resolve until they get protection from court,” he added.” Court will perform its duty whether government cooperates with them or not, “Chief Justice remarked.
