Lahore (Staff Report): Chief Minister Punjab and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) new president and Shabaz Sharif issued a statement Sunday night to refute all claims made by its former leader Nawaz Sharif with regard to the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
The PML-N’s president tweeted to make it clear that that the comments did not indicate what the political party believes.
Shehbaz Sharif said: “There can and shall never be any compromise on any national interest. The report has incorrectly attributed certain remarks to PMLN Quaid Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, which do not represent PMLN's party policy.”

The PML-N's president said, "The remarks in Dawn's report, attributed to PML-N's Quaid Nawaz Sharif in a wrong manner, are not representative of the party policy."
He added, "The PML-N rejects all claims made in the report, be they direct or indirect."
It is pertinent to remember that the tweet is the response of the Nawaz statement passed in a recent interview to Dawn newspaper, where Nawaz said, “Militant organisations are active. Call them non-state actors, should we allow them to cross the border and kill 150 people in Mumbai? Explain it to me. Why can’t we complete the trial?”
His remarks were played up by the Indian media as an admission of Pakistan's involvement in the terrorist attacks.
